An ecosystem approach to
microbiome therapy

We study how bacteria relate in community, work together to keep pathogenic overgrowth in check, and how they utilize food sources to carry out various metabolic activities. Microbes have evolved to activate defense mechanisms when they sense other microbial species around. We leverage this by chemically alerting the resident community of gut microbes, seeking to activate their naturally evolved competitiveness. This approach “keeps the ecosystem on a leash”.
